Asset Plans (VIC)
A key requirement of the newly implemented Local Government Act 2020 is for Councils to adopt a 10-year Asset Plan by 30 June 2022.
While many councils may be in the process of developing their plans, it is also clear that there is a strain being put on council resources with the number of requirements placed on councils by the implementation of the new Act.
Together with our experienced Associates, we are providing our expertise in this area as Council’s struggle with resourcing and capability, and we are achieving great results.
To date we have worked with a number of councils on their Asset Plans including Monash, Golden Plains, Mansfield, Alpine Shire, Frankston, Darebin, Ballarat and Mornington Peninsula.

Professional Engineers Registration Readiness (VIC)
Is you council ready for the introduction of the Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019?
The Victorian Government has introduced the Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019 from 1 July 2021, requiring Councils to undertake due diligence reviews of their operations to ensure compliance with the new Act.
CT Management Group has to date completed over 20 reviews, assisting councils to identify positions that will be required to be filled by a registered engineer. This has involved a review of:
- Staff Roles and responsibilities
- Position Descriptions detail
- Employment Agreements
- Procurement Policies.
From this review Councils will need to consider amongst other things risk management issues, delegations and authorisations, policy implications, position description updates learning and development programs and budgets.
